I heard you were a Kubert School alumni! I was wondering if you could tell me what you thought of the school, as I am strongly considering attending. Thanks and good work!

It's true.
If you are serious about drawing comics, and willing to put in the work go for it. You'll be drawing 8 hours a day at school and 8 hours of homework, so figure 16 hours a day of drawing. If you approach it like a normal school and slack off and party and do the minimum you won't improve and will waste your time there. Unlike other schools where the degree is the endgame, the endgame there is your portfolio, so if you don't bust your ass you won't power up, your portfolio will look like shit and you will have wasted your time and money.
The kubert school is like the navy seals of art schools, and when I was there it was like a 40% drop out rate from year to year, so my class was like 60 people first year, 40 or so second year and I think 25 or 30 graduated 3rd year, of that 30 maybe 10 or 15 that I know of are getting work.
So like I said if you're ready to bring it and are ready to draw nonstop for 3 years straight go for it, if not then you're probably not ready for the kubert school.
Good luck!

Your work is phenomenal! I must ask, are you pencil shades completely raw? I mean, do u tweak it later on PS or something similar for certain desired effects? Also, I know you were born with tremendous potential for sure, but how many years of practice has helped you get where u r now?

Thanks!!
I use f pencil and I sometimes darken it in photoshop so its easier for people to see on a computer monitor, but thats about it. When I color stuff I tweak the levels in photoshop and duplicate the lineart layer, set it to multiply and tweak the opacity until its the desired darkness, then I color it. I haven't inked anything in years.
I worked freelance for about 10 years, went to the kubert school from 2008-2011, and have been drawing as much as I can since. I would attribute the Kubert school with my current level of work, drawing 16-18 hours a day for 3 years will make you improve.
Thanks again=D
